VP RACING REFORMULATES THREE NHRA FUELS
NHRA Outlines Plan for Implementation of New Formulas SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 17, 2012)
VP Racing Fuels today announced it has reformulated three of its NHRA-approved fuels—C11, C23 and C25. Effective January 20, the new 2012 formulas will be available from VP for dyno and track testing in 5-gallon pails as well as 15-gallon and 54-gallon drums. The new 2012 blends also will be available for purchase at the NHRA Winternationals at Pomona, but may not be used in competition at this event. Beginning March 7th, 2012 the new 2012 formulas will be permitted for use in competition. Use of the pre-2012 formulas will be permitted in competition until December 31, 2012. The 2012 formulas will have a slightly higher octane and a slightly higher specific gravity, while the vaporization and energy content of the fuels have not changed. “We do not anticipate any tuning changes will be necessary,” said Steve Burns, VP’s Director of Research & Development. “Performance could possibly improve because of the higher octane and racers can expect more detonation protection. Pro Stock engines in particular have evolved since we first designed C25 and increased demands on the fuel. With C25 being a spec fuel, this reformulation will not change the balance of power in Pro Stock, but should help with engine life.
VP Racing is the Official Racing Fuel of NHRA Championship Drag Racing, as well as the American LeMans Series; Rally America; Super DIRTcar Series; Star Mazda; and USF2000, among nearly 60 VP-sponsored series. In addition to fuels, VP’s product line includes SEF Small Engine Fuel, formulated specifically for portable 2-cycle and 4-cycle gas-powered equipment, and PowerMaster hobby fuels for R/C racing. More information is available online at VPRacingFuels.com, SEFfuels.com and PowerMasterfuels.com.

Congress Jeopardizes Thousands of Jobs by Failing to Extend Biodiesel Tax
Incentive
Industry Urges Congress to Act Quickly in 2012
WASHINGTON -
Thousands of jobs supported by the U.S. biodiesel industry are at risk as
Congress appears to have reached a legislative impasse without extending a
critical tax incentive that is slated to expire on Dec. 31.
“We’re disappointed,” said Anne Steckel, vice president of federal affairs for the
National Biodiesel Board. “Jobs and the economy are supposed to be the top
priority in Washington, yet Congress has left thousands of workers in limbo
heading into the holidays by failing to extend this tax incentive. It’s a missed
opportunity, and we are urging Congress to pass an extension immediately next
year to limit the economic damage.”
“We appreciate our bipartisan supporters in the House and Senate who worked hard to include the
incentive in year-end legislation recently, and we look forward to building on
that support when Congress returns,” Steckel added.
The biodiesel industry has seen a remarkable turnaround this year after Congress reinstated
its $1-per-gallon tax incentive following a one-year lapse in 2010. When the
credit lapsed, dozens of plants shut down and thousands of jobs were lost as
2010 production plummeted to about 315 million gallons, the lowest level since
2006.
Through the end of October of this year, according to the latest EPA figures, the industry had
set a new annual production record of more than 802 million gallons and could
triple the 2010 production volume by the end of the year.
This year’s increased production will support some 39,000 jobs – up from fewer than 13,000
last year – while generating at least $3 billion in GDP and $628 million in
federal, state and local tax revenues, according to a recent economic study. In
addition to creating jobs and economic activity, biodiesel is reducing U.S.
reliance on foreign oil, bolstering economic and national security by
diversifying our fuel supply, and reducing tailpipe pollution and greenhouse gas
emissions.
“Biodiesel is a young industry with tremendous promise. It’s the first and only EPA-designated
advanced biofuel being produced on a commercial-scale nationwide,” Steckel said.
“But if we’re serious about diversifying our energy supply and embracing an ‘all
of the above’ energy policy so that our economy isn’t held hostage to sustained
$100-a-barrell oil prices, Congress has to step up and help make it
happen.”
Biodiesel is a renewable, clean-burning diesel replacement that can be used in existing diesel
engines and meets a strict ASTM fuel specification. Made from an increasingly
diverse mix of resources such as agricultural oils, recycled cooking oil and
animal fats, it is the first and only commercial-scale fuel used across the U.S.
to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s definition as an advanced biofuel.
It is produced in nearly every state in the country.

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with all the people suffering through the floods in New Jersey. Many families are displaced and will have lost everything. It is just heartbreaking.
Our thoughts and prayers are also with our fellow world citizens of Japan. The earthquake, the tsunami, the nuclear facility issues and now a vulcano. We urge you to donate what you can to the American Red Cross. They are stretched to the limit trying to help the flooded out citizens in our country as well as reach across the pacific to assist the people of Japan.
When somethng bad would happen, my Mom, rest her soul, would say….”There by the Grace of God go I”. I hear her words, still in my head and find comfort in her belief that we are so blessed. Today, as news continues to break revealing more and more about the devestating events of the past 5 days….I say quietly and loudly at the same time…There by the Grace of God go I. And I turn to all those around me and say it is up to each of us to stand up and do what we can, no matter how small…to reach out to those that are suffering. Do what you can, if you can and find your Grace, where ever that may be.

Okay, okay…so I am a very baddddd blogger. I have heard from many of you that are quite disappointed in my lack of attention to keep my blog updated. I absolutely do apologize. I have a renewed sense of how important it is to keep you all informed and updated. I will update regularily. Also, I will Tweet more. You can follow me at Twitter at WSPAz and I am in the process of building a company Facebook page…so we can all be in touch!
Obviously, the turmoil and unrest in the Middle East is propelling the fuel prices higher and higher. There is a lot of national talk about President Obama tapping in the strategic oil reserves. I am against that at this point. The reserves are there in case of major disrpution in supply, not to help with pricing. As a supplier of gasoline, diesel, biodiesel and E-85 we are doing all we can to secure the best supply pricing we can on a daily and in some cases hourly basis. It quite a dance. However, it is our commitment to our customer base to do all we can to help them all we can to control their fuels costs. These higher prices impact small and large businesses alike, as well as every-one’s family budgets. We all in the same boat, so to speak. I believe the waters are going to get rougher, as the summer approaches.
Our lubricant suppliers are already talking another price increase in base oils, which will lead to another price increase to lubricants. All major oil suppliers just had a increase in February/March, so we are anticipating another increase as early as April/May. I will let you know immediately when we receive notification. VP Racing Fuels just announced an immediate .40 price increase effective last Monday. We have quite a bit of racing fuel instock, but will be forced to recognize this increase during our next order cycle, which will be in early April.
Thats it for this post. Hang in there. Call me or email me if you need anything and please remember we are completely committed to bringing to you the best price we can on all the lubricant and fuel you need!
